Swatch Exchange Projects
In the last few years, Whiteleaf Paper has been sponsoring a type of collaborative art project called swatch swaps. In these projects, a variety of papermakers submit small pieces of paper to the group, along with information about that paper. Then the papers are collated, a book is designed for tipping in the swatches, and every participant receives a packet of all the swatches and a digital file of the book. The book , printed and tipped in, become a joyous example of all the work people like me do with papermaking. The swatches are beautiful, interesting and very varied.
